The current Silverado and Sierra have the payload and tray length to carry a serious setup. The ModCAP System for the Chevy Silverado & GMC Sierra 2019+ makes the most of that. Start with a lockable canopy and grow it into a camper as your trips get longer.
One base, three tops: Canopy, Camper and Family. Start with the flat-roof canopy for work and daily use, fit the Camper when weekends away pick up, and go to the full-size Family when the touring gets serious. There's no rebuilding from scratch.
The system is made specifically for the Silverado/Sierra's body, tub dimensions and mounting points, and it mounts directly to the tub. That avoids the problems drop-in liners cause and keeps the structure strong. Depending on the variant, expect around 130-280kg and 840-1065mm above the tub, low enough to keep the Silverado/Sierra stable and practical day to day.
