The first-generation Amarok's wide tub suits a canopy well. The ModCAP System for the Volkswagen Amarok (2010-2022) makes the most of it, starting as a lockable canopy and stepping up to a camper when you want to sleep on board.
Because every ModCAP variant (Canopy, Compact, Camper and Family) sits on a shared base, you can change modules without replacing the system. Work and daily use suit the flat-roof canopy, the Compact suits regular weekends away, and the Camper or Family suits extended touring. You upgrade without starting over.
Fitment is vehicle-specific, matched to the Amarok's body shape, tub and mounting points. ModCAP mounts directly to the tub for strength, with no reliance on drop-in liners. Overall weights range from about 110–250kg and heights from 730–955mm above the tub, depending on variant, so the Amarok stays stable, aerodynamic and practical to drive.
