The X-Cover 3.0 is iKamper's hybrid rooftop tent. Closed, it's a flat, low hard shell with an anodised aluminium top and no PVC travel cover to wrestle with. Open, it unfolds into a soft-shell tent with views on all sides and a bed big enough for a family. It replaces the X-Cover 2.0, and at 58 kg iKamper describes it as the lightest family-size rooftop tent available.
The 3.0 is lighter than the 2.0. It drops the 2.0's roof crossbars and adds a zippered diesel heater port in the canvas. Two skyview windows, mesh panels with blackout covers and built-in awnings let you choose between airflow and shelter, and your bedding can stay inside when it's packed down. It's a good match for wagons, mid-size SUVs and utes with an over-cab rack.
