The first thing people often ask - is it worth the extra spend over a roof top tent? In our opinion; most definitely yes! A few key points!
- First and foremost - weather:
- No more running around in the rain trying to set up / pack up a tent in the rain.
- If the weather turns while you are camping, once the roof is open you have loads of internal living space so with the correct layout you can live internally if needs be
- You can stand up at full height
- Height and stability:
- With a lower overall height (140mm added height to your vehicle) you have a lower centre of gravity - with your average roof tent and roof rack system you are adding around 350mm
- As the roof conversion follows the lines of the roof you have less wind drag meaning better fuel efficiency
- Functionality
- Ability to carry additional items on top of the roof, with integrated load track and optional load bars it's perfect for extra gear storage
- More configurable internal layouts and maximised into space usage.
The Alu-Cab Roof Conversions are available for the Land Cruiser 76 Series, 75 & 78 Series (Troop Carrier), Land Rover Defender and Ineos Grenadier. The job takes about 3 days to complete, and once it's done it's the perfect base for that dream tourer!
